K&N Air Filters are effective due to the type of cotton that are use, the weave of the individual cotton strands, the process by which it is woven, the chemistry of the oil, the oil’s viscosity and absorbency along with the structural aspects of the aluminum wire.

K&N invented the concept of washable, reusable filters more than 35 years ago.  Each K&N Filter underwent  great deal of engineering. Each filter is custom designed to fit in the factory air box and requires no modifications. K&N Air Filters are constructed to increase horsepower while providing excellent engine protection.

Another K&N performance part is said to help enhance vehicles. Reports have come out that K&N Engineering has designed a new cold air intake featured in the 2006 and 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt 2.4 liter engine. It has a  part number of 69-4517TTK for reference and is built to improve vehicle performance. The K&N Typhoon Air Intakes are proven on a rear-wheel dynamometer to increase horsepower and torque.

In the K&N dynamometer test, it showed that there us a 16 horsepower gain at 5900 RPM for this K&N air intake. This new intake uses the factory Mass Air Flow sensor and a reusable K&N High Flow Air Filter.

The heat shield isolates the K&N engine compartment and allows the K&N Air Filter to receive a consistent flow of cool fresh outside air. The Chevrolet Cobalt’s mass air sensor is installed in the K&N intake tube and is an important part of the overall horsepower gain with this system.

It takes 90 minutes or less to install most K&N Cold Air Intakes with common tools. K&N Air Intake Systems come with the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.

K&N Air Filter Upgrades Honda Bike at Supersport Bike Enthusiasts

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

World-class makers of Air Filters, K&N Engineering, has released a new Air Filter (HA-6007) specifically for the 2007 Honda CBR600RR. It is engineered to fit into the Honda’s factory air box and is held securely in place with a metal frame. It boasts of a smooth design, there is never any cutting or fitting required.

The all-new Honda CBR600RR has changed the face of the Supersport class. This Sportbike is lighter and faster than the competition, and the crankcase has been shortened by more than an inch. Honda is marketing the bike with claims of a 17-pound weight loss, (381 pounds with an empty tank) which would make the CBR the lightest Supersport bike by a significant margin.

The K&N Air Filters are performance parts that are made of cotton gauze sandwiched between two epoxy-coated aluminum wire screens. The cotton is treated with a specially formulated grade of oil. This causes tackiness throughout the cotton’s microscopic strands. The nature of the cotton allows air flow and when combined with the tackiness of our oil, it creates a powerful filtering media that ensures engine protection. K&N’s unique pleated design allows for increased filtration along with optimum air flow.

K&N invented the concept of washable, reusable filters more than 35 years ago. Covered by their famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty, every K&N Air Filter will be the last air filter that the vehicle will ever need.

K&N Filters Wins Excellence Award Second Year In a Row

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

K&N Filters, the known Performance Parts brand for Fuel Filters, Cold Air Intake Systems, Air Filters, and Oil Filters, has recently been recognized and awarded by the National Catalog Managers Association(NCMA) with the 2007 President’s Award for Web catalog Excellence. This would be KNFilters.com’s second time to wind the award as they also won in 2006.

“These awards recognize automotive aftermarket companies who have achieved excellence in electronic cataloging,” said NCMA. “You can say your site is the best designed, most easily navigated, has the most content of any Website as judged by the committee,” Mark Richardson said, vice president of administration and publicity for the NCMA. The criteria for judging included navigation, catalog content, technology, design, innovation, and interactivity. “Overall KNFilters.com scored the highest average in each category,” said Richardson.

Mike Garner, K&N’s system development manager said, “It’s an honor to have KNFilters.com recognized by the NCMA. Receiving this award for the second year in a row is an exceptional honor.”

“The quality of K&N’s online catalog starts with the data being accurate and complete. Several groups at K&N work hard to provide accurate and complete information, and this award is a nice recognition of their hard work, as well as the work of our software developers,” Garner added.

“Whenever you are judged by your peers, it means something to your customers and potential customers,” said Richardson. “Also it’s a third-party confirmation of your hard work,” he added.

“The focus of K&N’s Web site has been to provide consumers and dealers with all of the information they need and more,” Garner explained. “As soon as K&N releases a product, it shows up on the Web site with images, specifications and all available information. Many of our dealers use our Web site on a daily basis because of this,” Garner also said. “Since our first award last year, we have made several improvements to KNFilters.com,” he further explained. “One of our more complex applications — air filter search by dimension — is even more powerful than before, with better images and faster results.” Other new and improved sections include: K&N laboratory testing, the K&N dealer area, the K&N media area and K&N RSS feeds for podcasts and news.

“We have several projects underway that will add new functionality to KNFilters.com for consumers and dealers alike,” Garner continued. “Hopefully, this will put KNFilters.com in the running for the National Catalog Managers Association Web Catalog Excellence award again next year.”

K&N Filters may has taken that award for the second time in a row, proving that they are indeed for the satisfaction and convenience of their customers. It is for this reason that SpeedyPerformanceParts.com has included them in their list of quality brands that they offer to their customers as well. But SpeedyPerformance Website doesn’t only offer the K&N Performance Parts as they believe that customers should also have a variety of brands to choose from. Thus, there are a lot of quality brands that customers can choose from in their site, to be able to get the best parts for their precious set of wheels.
